A Brief Introduction
This section of the website will be devoted to the origins of the droopy Bloodhound, yes that sad-looking dog with the bloodshot eyes, the saggy skin, and the hanging slobber. In addition, this section of the website will also show how and why humans domesticated the canine and how humans used the canine during its early history. We will travel back in time to see who my Bloodhound, Gina, really was.
We will discover many things about the Bloodhound while we uncover the past, get a little nosy, and see what effects on human culture the Bloodhound may be responsible for. Through the examination of newspapers, books, testimonies, and even interviews and videos, we can begin to understand how complex a dog's history can really be. poBy starting with Gina, we begin with an end point within a spectrum of history to then move from the origins into hundreds of years of history. Thusly, this lays the foundation and groundwork for an example of "Little Big History" as we zoom back and forth between scales of time and perspective. Without further ado, I suggest you, the viewer, peruse the subsections of this segment of the website to see where we start with Bloodhounds and then do some perusing from there. And for your enjoyment, perhaps watch the video below to see Bloodhounds in action and gain a general understanding of who they are. Enjoy! |
